I'm one of the world's most ardent fans of YSL & have been so for 50 years. I must say that this book is hardly representative of his work. Much of what's pictured in it is painfully, "unlookably" dated. I regret buying it.
Terrific.
I know nothing about fashion and care less, but the currently-touring museum YSL show (which I was dragged to) show blew my mind; the man was a genius. This book is good, but it's based on (was written to accompany) this museum show rather than the entirety of YSL's work, and is thus limited in scope. The book by Muller with the large "YSL" logo on the front has much more more detail about the complete oeuvre.
